At St. Peter's we hope to get all our members involved so that each individual part of this body of believers can serve God and serve others through their unique gifts. To reflect our diverse gifts, we have many different teams that serve different needs of our congregation.

If you are a member and are not yet part of a team but would love to get involved in your church and community, call or message Lynn Fry ASAP! - 920-988-4770.

Below are brief descriptions of each team and its mission.

Altar Guild
These are the people who take care of our beautiful altar, etc.

Budget
The Budget Team consists of the Board of Trustees, the chairman of the School Board, the Salary and the Facility Repair team. They are tasked to prepare the congregation's budget for the following year and recommend it through the church council to the annual meeting of the voters' assembly. Groups and committees must submit their budgets to this group.

Bylaw Update
This team is tasked with reviewing our bylaws on a regular basis to see if any alterations need to be made based on current practice. They are also responsible with drafting and proposing any changes that need to be made to our bylaws if that be necessary and then proposing those changes through the church council to the voters assembly.

Cemetery
This team is responsible for maintenance of the cemetery, keeping records of grave sites, and assigning burial plots to congregational members as needed. All markers and tombstones are family responsibilities.

Church Cleaning
This team helps to keep our church as beautiful as possible. Included in their considerations are how to keep things stored and sorted so that we keep our church uncluttered and optimally functional for all of our different functions going on in our church building.

Church Directory
This team fights to keep our member information current and also to provide recent pictures so that our church family can stay connected and close no matter how much we grow. This includes preparing and distributing a hard copy directory, an online directory, and a photo directory. Many talents and skills are needed to keep this information current and communication flowing!

Cradle Roll
This team is tasked with providing expecting and current parents with excellent materials to assist them in bringing up their children in the Lord from the cradle on up! This may include pamphlets with important information about parenting at different age levels, books that teach young children about their Savior, and other gifts or needed items that help our new families stay strong in their awesome parenting roles and encouraged to raise mighty little Christians!

Christmas Decorating

In the months leading up to Christmas, this team does its best to make our campus appropriately and joyously festive to celebrate the birth of our Savior. If you like decorating and you like Christmas, this is the team for you!

Counting

Counters help Collectors (a council position to oversee this task) collect church service contributions. Elected collectors prepare and mail individual statements quarterly.

Easter Breakfast

This team is pretty self-explanatory! Because Easter breakfast is such a wonderful and delicious big deal for our church, we have a team to make sure this meal runs smoothly and is full of delicious homemade breakfast food. If you like cooking, baking, or seeing everything come together into a wonderful feast, this team is perfect for you!

Evangelism
The main goal of this team is to reach those who do not yet know their Savior. How can we do that in our community? What opportunities can we create for our members to meet and engage individuals who don't go to church or are disconnected from the true faith? These are questions this team wrestles with to develop strategies and plans to be witnesses to the world for Jesus, and then they go! "Preach the gospel to all creation!"

Facility Repair
The repair team supervises the repair and upkeep of the congregation's property. They annually inspect all properties and report this inspection at the third quarter meeting of the voters assembly. They report to the church council and congregation and carry out such work as assigned to it by the council/voters' assembly.

Fellowship
This team has the fun responsibility of planning fellowship events for our members and for our community. These events are meant to bring us together, build relationships, strengthen our family, and remind us of the deeper bond we have when we are in Christ.

Flowers

This team overseas the planning, planting and nurturing of our beautiful plants and flowers around the church property. If you have a green thumb, we could use it!

Lakeside Delegates

There are two men elected to this role by the voters. They are to attend the General Board meetings at Lakeside Lutheran High School. A report is to be given to the church council and congregation at each quarterly meeting. These men represent the congregation on matters dealing with our area Lutheran High School, Lakeside Lutheran in Lake Mills. If you would like to be considered for this position, please speak to a council member!

Lawn Trimming & Snow Shoveling

This team is made up of individuals who help care for our green spaces during the summer through lawn care and trimming, including around all the grave markers! When winter comes, this also includes those who help shovel or plow around the church, in the parking lots, and wherever else is needed.

Legacy Fund

This team monitors and manages our legacy fund. If you are a financial guru or someone who likes numbers, this team would love to have you.

Newsletter

This team assists Kelly Vogel, our secretary, to prepare and get out our school newsletters to parents and members. This includes printing, folding, packing and sometimes sending by mail these newsletters.

Nominating
This team is made up of the officers whose term was up the previous year. They are charged with finding candidates to fill upcoming vacant positions in the council with capable and willing men that the voters can elect to each position.

German School Project

This team's purpose is to brainstorm ideas and implement them for the renovation and restoration of our old German school, now called, "The SchoolHaus." As phase 1 (Renovation of the exterior & upper floor of the school) nears its conclusion (hopefully by Spring of 2024), the team will focus on how to use the new space for community events, Bible Studies, & fellowship. Eventually, when strength and energy return, phase 2 will be renovating the lower level of the SchoolHaus and making it additional usable space. If you like history, renovation, using your hands or thinking of creative ways to use things for God's kingdom, this team would love to have you!

Organ Repair

This team keeps track of maintenance needs of our organ and schedules any repairs as needed. If larger maintenance is needed, this team would research and prepare a proposal to the council about how we should address the situation at that time.

Parking Lot and Grounds
This team is responsible for the supervision and/or maintenance of the parking lot and grounds. They shall annually inspect the grounds and parking lot and report their findings and recommendations to the council and at the 4th Qtr. assembly meeting.

Salary
The salary team formulates the salary policies for the paid church workers of the congregation. Salary policies will be formulated within the salary standards established at synod conventions whenever possible. The salary team chairman is responsible to meet with his team at least once a year prior to the annual budget team meeting to review current salaries and to make sure we are taking good care of the workers God has given us. The chairman reports team recommendations to the budget team and the church council.

Social Media

Members of this team monitor and maintain our social media platforms and presences as well as communicating all announcements through them. Members can also post pertinent content that connects people with God's Word and specifically, with the ministry of our Synod and the ministry of St. Peter's. With the growing trend to have more and more resources and ministry online, the need for constant helpers to keep putting our best foot forward at our "digital front door" is crucial.

Shepherd Visitors

This team assists the elders to visit and connect with members who have been away from church for a long time or who could use the encouragement to make church a regular part of their routine once more. This is a team of encouragement and brotherly/sisterly love as we seek "to spur one another on to not give up meeting together" or making frequent use of God's Word and the sacraments.

Strategic Planning

This team has the exciting and daunting task of peering into the future and planning for the blessings and challenges that may come to our church and its members. What should we be saving for? What are our immediate and long term needs? How can we maximize what God has blessed us with and how do we prepare for what is next around the bend? How do we create a welcoming and inviting ministry? How do we keep all three branches of our ministry connected and working in harmony? How do we create a culture of evangelism in all that we do? Come and help us ask the right questions, seek the Lord's answers, and create a roadmap to be faithful with our time, talents and abilities as a congregation. During 2023, this work has been in connection with our partnership with Crossroads Consulting. As 2024 begins, this team will help ensure we stay focused on our vision and fulfilling our quarterly goals through action items.

Stewardship
The stewardship team creates programs of sound Christian stewardship and implements them by the direction of the congregation. Each of us have been given unique abilities, opportunities, and resources to use for the good of God's kingdom. God is the one who gives all good things! How can we reflect that truth in our own lives? How can we, as a Christian congregation, reflect that as the body of Christ, called to be his hands and feet on earth? If you are passionate about serving the Lord with everything we have, this is a team that could use you and your passion.

Technology

This team helps address any technology issues or needs the congregation may face. They also prepare and run the PowerPoint presentations for our worship services as well as running our livestream broadcast for Sunday worship services. You do not need to be a whiz at technology to be part of this team! Everything can be learned. This team could use your help!!!

Ushers
This team can include any confirmed male members who want to help hand out bulletins, usher people to their seats at the beginning of worship, gather offerings, and direct individuals during communion distribution. They also are available to assist during worship if any need or question arises.

Visitation

This team assists pastor and the elders to visit our elderly and homebound members. Those members love the company and miss their church family. If you are someone who loves to talk and visit with others, this is the team for you!
